Macquarie House began in 1990 when Elizabeth Synnot and Peter Howie decided to combine their skills in training and organisational development. Since then Macquarie House has delivered tailored training programs to over 150 organisations.
Our clients have included the Queensland Public Service, the Australian Public Service, local government organisations, the community sector and large private-sector businesses. We have worked at all levels, from whole-of-government to single work units.
Since 1998 we have focused almost exclusively on leadership development, delivering programs such as Leadership Foundations, Leadership in Action, Advanced Leadership and Strategic Leaders. Our major clients in this time have been Education Queensland, Brisbane City Council, the Indigenous Education Training Authority (IETA), and particularly the Office of Public Service Merit and Equity (OPSME), through which we have delivered programs across the Queensland public service.
Macquarie House has a reputation for developing innovative, ‘real' programs that make a difference to people's lives. For over 35 of our programs we have personally conducted follow-up interviews with the participants' supervisors, and they have consistently verified just how profound the learning has been for many of their people.
