"Not for beginners"
Monday 16th - 20th July
Who is it for?
The list of potential participants for Advanced Leadership is long and varied: CEOs, school principals, managers, principals, educators, organisational facilitators, community developers, teachers and anyone else who is keen to enter into a deeper learning process than is available elsewhere. It would be particular relevant for those who have ‘reached a wall' with previous leadership training, or have grown tired with their old leadership limitations and would like to break out. It is also for those that are simply feeling ground down by the relentless nature of leadership in these times. People who have attended one or more of our other courses (Leadership Foundations, Leadership in Action or Strategic Leaders) may also find this the logical next step in their development.
How does it work?
Learning is highly active, with simulations, sociodrama, role training and group work tailored exclusively for the participants present. Supporting this is a rigorous application of transformation theory and other research-based theories, the use of proven mental models to guide involvement, and encouragement of individual and group reflection. The program is designed to really progress each person's learning and development, and is structured so as to ensure that learning is applied in each person's work, family and community life.
While this reads like there is a frenetic pace to the workshops this is not the case. The rhythms of the workshop match the needs and challenges of the participants. Deep learning needs space and time. This workshop creates the space and makes sure that the time is well spent.
Two workshops form the core of the program. The first workshop is nothing less than an oasis in the desert of dry leadership courses; it allows the participants to develop into a strong and collegial group as they are offered a range of practical models and processes. The second workshop helps the group gain a thorough grasp of the range of personal communications required to develop learning environments that challenge and support individual and group learning. Group size is limited to 20.
Typical structure
The two intensive workshops are supplemented with interviews and other learning activities:
- Pre-interviews with participants and their supervisors (over 2 weeks)
- 5-day residential workshop
- Learning group activities, mostly via the internet (over a few months)
- 3-day non-residential workshop
- Follow-up (over a few months).
Cost
$2,640 (incl GST) which includes all materials, residential costs and meals. There is a discount available for individuals who are demonstrably self-funding. If 3 or more participants from a Network Resource Group (NRG) attend a discount is available. To discuss these discounts please call Peter on 0411 873 851.

"The program is very informative and definitely improved my understanding of how people operate. It is amazing just how differently people think and behave. It is sometimes very difficult to understand some of their ways of thinking, but I just tell myself ‘that is just the way it is'." Nick, an IT professional
